Lake Elementaita is the smallest and quietest of the three main Rift Valley soda lakes, sitting between Nakuru and Naivasha. It forms part of the Kenya Lake System UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Flamingos, pelicans and over 400 bird species use the lake, and the surrounding Soysambu Conservancy holds zebra, giraffe, eland and colobus. The Sleeping Warrior hill on the skyline gives the area its distinctive profile.
It makes an easy overnight stop on a Nakuru to Naivasha circuit.
