Elephants Beneath Kilimanjaro
Amboseli National Park is defined by one image: elephant herds crossing dusty plains with Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them. It offers the most reliable elephant viewing in Kenya, including some of the last remaining big-tusker bulls in Africa.
Swamps fed by underground streams from Kilimanjaro keep the park green even in dry months, drawing hippo, buffalo and huge numbers of waterbirds. Observation Hill gives a 360 degree view across the basin.
